Bronze Sculpture by Tim Norman

“Vintage Viewpoint” Bronze Sculpture by Tim Norman

Born and raised in Wallowa county Oregon, Tim grew up on a farm along the Lostine River where he learned at an early age that he liked to draw, photograph and carve wild life and the natural environment around him. Tim’s first formal training began at Enterprise High School which enabled him to explore drawing, painting, sculpting and the potter’s wheel, knowing after graduating high school he wanted to pursue a career in art or music.

In 1981 Tim married his wife Nickie and continued his education by attending Spokane Falls Community College and Eastern Oregon State College, also working misc. jobs from ranch work to construction.

In 1996 Tim and Nickie (his wife and business partner) decided to take a leap of faith and began what is now known as Norman Arts, just outside of Enterprise Oregon. This has given them a chance to offer exceptional quality bronze castings for their clients as well as allowing Tim to further explore his love of creating his own sculptures, drawings and paintings.

Tim NormanTim and Nickie have raised two wonderful children Maggie and Brady who have been a big part of the growing of Norman Arts.

They look back with gratitude and respect, for the people and events that have touched their lives, and look forward to what the future might bring.

“Give Me Three Steps” by Tim Norman –Was it something in the wind, a noise, something he can see? Whatever the case this bull elk gives that classic “last look back” before he heads over the other side of the mountain.

“Grubbin’ on Starvation Ridge” – This is a very artistically sculpted bronze, lot’s of texture and a real “wind swept” feeling. Norman created this work in honor of many times over the years (being a Wallowa County resident all of his life and knowing the country here like the back of his hand) that he spent glassing out on Starvation Ridge , north of town. He’s enjoyed watching those lumbering, hungry bears knocking over rocks, stumps and whatever in search of “grub”. He hopes to complete the life size of this bronze sometime over the summer.

“Ruby Peak” – This gorgeous wall relief in bronze shows one of the Eagle Cap/Wallowa Mountains most talked about peaks. In the summertime when there is no snow topping, a viewer can really see the deep, red soil on this mountain top and in the winter when it has been beautifully snowcapped you can actually see the “ruby” hue come dancing through especially on an early morning sunrise.
